Week 19

Hi everyone, quick post to say happy Juneteenth (thank you to Penn for giving us a holiday) and HAPPY PET SCAN RESULTS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT’S GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve had a very good response to chemotherapy, and the treatment is working well!!

There’s clear evidence that the amount of cancer has decreased in all sites, both in size and in amount of “metabolic activity” meaning the cancer cells are less active!

This is a lot to process but we wanted to share as soon as we knew, because we want everyone to be celebrating today!

George and I are heading to a fancy hotel in Atlantic City for the weekend just before my FINAL round of chemo. I got hit with a stomach virus Wednesday evening into Thursday (got checked at the oncology evaluation center just to be sure it’s nothing serious, and we’re all clear) - I’m on the mend now and we’ve decided to keep our trip as planned. We’ll be taking things super slow and easy but are really looking forward to relaxing by the pool, reading books, and enjoying a little responsibility-free time!
